Double Data Rate (DDR) SDRAM components are based on an established, high-bandwith DRAM technology. This technology is cost-effective and suitable for every DRAM market segment. Double Data Rate (DDR) SDRAM is a further development of SDR products. Data of DDR SDRAMs are read on both the rising and the falling edge of per clock cycle, thereby delivering twice the bandwidth of standard SDR SDRAMs. A DDR SDRAM clocked at 200 MHz has a burst rate of 400Mbit/s or a peak bandwidth of more than 3.2Gbytes/s in a 8byte application.
